PGNA Special Board Meeting - Budget Mapping - All are welcome!
Learn about how Budget Mapping has created investment in East Portland!
October 22, 2024 7pm - 9pm
All who are interested in furthering the quality of life in our neighborhood are welcome at this meeting, especially
neighborhood leaders !
Did you know that the City of Portland has been tracking public investment geographically since 2011?
Are you interested in learning how to use this data to advocate for better city services in your neighborhood?
Because of advocacy by the East Portland Action Plan (EPAP), Portland city government has increased investment in housing, parks, and transportation by more than one billion dollars since 2011.
This meeting will feature Nick Sauvie, Co-Executive Director of Rose Community Development, who will share information about budget mapping data in order to educate and help neighborhood associations, community groups, and public officials better advocate for our area in East Portland! Every East Portlander knows intuitively that our neighborhoods do not get the same level of attention and resources as other parts of the city. Knowledge is power. We now have access to data that shows how far East Portland lags in many areas and how we are closing the investment gap here. A 30 minute presentation will be followed by a question and answer period.
